Samsung Smartphones Popularity Has Skyrocketed In 2021, Here Is The Reason Why

There is no doubt that the year 2021 was the year of Samsung because in 2021 Samsung ruled the market with its pocket-friendly and light on your bank account mobile phone A12 which beat the iPhone in the battle of sales and fame.

iPhone keeps the culture of launching a small range of phones each time, unlike any other mobile phone launch which makes it stand out in many. And therefore, most of the time iPhone results to be a phone most anticipated by the audience hence is expected to be the one touching the skies of fame by reaching on top in selling charts in the following year. You see we could very much agree with that but whenever it comes to the budget-friendly product, we see Android manufacturers being the dominant product which makes it the top-selling product each year given the reason that it is more affordable than Samsung is more affordable than the iPhone.

According to a report by Omdia, Samsung’s A12 was found to be the most in-demand mobile phone making it “the most sold phone of 2021”. The A12 was launched with the price of $180 only in the USA which labeled it as the lightest on the pocket phone out of the entire line-up in 2021. That’s not it, A12 also had two more phones launched in the same year standing in its competition with Samsung A02 with the price of $140 occupying the 10th spot in the chart and Xiaomi Redmi 9A with the price of $78 taking the lead and occupying the 5th spot in the top-selling yearly charts of 2021.

Besides this, you would only see Apple everywhere, as all the other spots were taken by the iPhone. Even with its latest launch of iPhone 13, the Apple itself was seen to be struggling in the means of popularity with its launches, because iPhone 11, iPhone 13, iPhone Pro, and Pro Max all of them were found to be less popular than iPhone 12 making it the most popular iPhone of 2021. The fact that the iPhone is very expensive could be a reason because the price of all the iPhones starts from $600 and goes further high, comparing the price of the iPhone with the Samsung phone it is obvious why Samsung would take the lead in the market.

Omdia further reported that in the history of Samsung what happened in 2021 was something unseen, all thanks to the launch of a flip phone Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, resulting in the purchase of the phone including the international shipping around 390% more then total sales estimated the year prior.

All of this took place only in the second half of 2021 from the shipment of 9 million units to Samsung being the king of 88% of the foldable smartphone market. According to the company, Samsung has shipped around 4.6 million Galaxy Z Flip 3 units and 2.5 million Galaxy Z Fold 3 units. The market says that no phone has been witnessed to become even close to the point where Samsung stands. For example, Huawei Mate X2 occupies the 3rd spot on the chart with 0.5 million units sold.

It is predicted the sale of foldable smartphones will progress and go around 14 million in 2022 and around 61 million units by 2026 i.e., 3.6% of the entire market of smartphones.
