Google Lets You Customize the New Tabs Page With New Tool

Google has started focusing quite a bit on customization and individuality in its branding because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up helping it set itself apart from some of its more homogenized competitors. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that a new tool that was just released for Chrome named as Tab Maker can help you build extensions that can enable you to customize your New Tab page, and the sheer number of options that you can take advantage of here are really quite surprising.

For one thing, you don’t need to know how to code in order to use this editor. Instead, you can just use the templates that have been provided. These eleven templates can be mixed and matched, and there are a bunch of other things that you can do in order to further optimize things for yourself as well.

The great thing about this feature is that it can help you turn the New Tab page, which is usually just empty real estate with nothing of value to provide, into a space where they can obtain information. This can be something like stock info, educational videos, or anything else that they would want to incorporate into that space.

The fact that you don’t need to code to do this anymore is really quite special, although something like this can also inspire kids to want to learn about coding in depth in order to better understand what is going on here. Whatever the case may be, Google is definitely trying to help people personalize all of the Google products that they use, and this is something that they have incorporated into their branding as well including in the ads for the new Pixel phone that have recently come out.
