Why You Should Never Interact With Spam Communication, Even to Unsubscribe

Receiving a spam email is a real rite of passage if you think about people that tend to use the internet on a regular basis. However, at the end of the day it’s really not the most enjoyable thing for anyone to have to end up going through which means that you would ideally want to think about how you can avoid receiving them altogether. This is where people end up making the most common mistake when it comes to trying their best to not receive spam emails in the first place.

This mistake that we are referring to involves clicking on the unsubscribe button underneath the email or interacting with the spam communication in any way, shape or form. This will basically result in an interaction that the spammer will take as a sign that they can bombard you with even more spam than might have been the case otherwise, because it sends a signal that you are active and took an action. They would know that their spam is annoying you and that if they keep sending more from different sources then there is a pretty decent chance that you will interact once again thereby allowing them to generate some kind of revenue.

Instead of opening the email and interacting with it, you should simply mark the email as spam and delete it without opening it at all, or sometimes not deleting it and letting it sit in the spam box is also ok so that in future you know at what time who spammed you. Any interaction is going to show the spammer in question that you are a rather gullible person that doesn’t really care about the kinds of emails they receive at any given point in time.

Another thing that you should try to note is that spammers often hide malicious links in their emails and communications, which means that if you start opening the email to try and find a way in which you can end up preventing them from coming ever again then you end up accidentally clicking on a malicious link that would end up infecting your system with some kind of malware such as a Trojan or something similar to this sort of thing.

What you might be interested in thinking about right now is how you can go about avoiding getting spam in the first place. Some would say that getting spam is just a natural part of using the internet, but what you need to realize here is that there are a few things that you can do to end up preventing it at the very least to a certain extent. One thing that you can do to try and prevent receiving spam is to avoid the common first name, last name combination in your email address as spammers often try to figure these out and send emails to them.

Another thing that you can try to do is to avoid having your email displayed anywhere public. Scammers often employ another tactic which involves looking for publicly available email addresses that they can then send spam emails to, so by avoiding placing these emails on any public forums you can avoid a lot of the annoying situations that often result in you receiving spam emails that would be annoying at best and downright risky to interact with at worst. These simple precautions can help make your internet experience a bit more palatable.
