Facebook is testing out a new ‘Green Screen’ feature for Facebook stories

Facebook has been seen coming up with new features every now and then especially in 2021. These newly rolled out features aren’t for the users but for the content creators as well. Facebook has been seen to take in considerations for people all around and that from Facebook is very thoughtful indeed. It is now on the news that Facebook is testing out new ‘Green screen’ option within Facebook stories creative tools.

This new tool will allow users to present their videos over a selected video or still image that is the user can add a video or an image from their Camera Roll as a background and then upload their story over it. This can prove to be great tool for content creators who present their content via the Facebook stories as well. The Green Screen option will be available for users in the Stories creation tools. A feature similar to this one can be seen on viral social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram as well, this feature in these platforms has allowed content creators to explore their creativity and provide their audience with more relatable and meaningful content. This is not an original idea from Facebook but the popularity these social media platforms were able to achieve through this feature might be the reason why Facebook wanted to mimic a feature like this and test it out for its own platform as well to allow content creators to test out the same thing from different platforms and explore more from their creativity bucket.

The testing of this feature was spotted by Mamun Billah and an example of this was shown by the well-known app researcher Matt Navarra who tweeted how the new Green Screen option will be available on Facebook Stories in the Stories creation tools. This feature makes stories look visually very pleasing with users choosing the background of their choice from Camera Roll and exploring more of the tools provided by the app which makes their stories as a whole look very attractive. The users can even film themselves over their chosen background as seen in many content creators videos from TikTok.

Even though this idea from Facebook is not an original one, Facebook taking on the move to include this in its own platform while knowing that this has already been successfully executed by other much used social media apps is a bold move itself. Facebook is testing this feature out and it is expected to be available for users all around the world very soon. This is for sure to give content creators a new boost and something out of the ordinary or even for common users to make their stories visually attractive as per their liking.
