Reddit Just Saw Record Breaking Installs in a Single Month

The world of social media has been seeing an enormous amount of upheaval over the course of the past year especially. Reddit has been seeing a great boost in its user base, with its total monthly installs for the month of January coming in at a massive 6.6 million individual downloads. This is a 2 million increase from December where the social media app saw 4.6 million installs, and it is a big indicator that Reddit is going to become an even bigger player than it is right now.

These aren’t just empty numbers either. Reddit is seeing a consistent increase in its monthly active users as well, with the number going up by 54% in January. There are a lot of different factors that could be causing this sort of thing. There has been a general uproar over sites like Facebook and Twitter supposedly censoring certain people, and those people along with their followers might be migrating to Reddit especially due to the anonymity that that kind of app generally tends to provide along with its infrastructure which is ideally suited to the anonymous experience.

Reddit is also often seen as a cooler social networking app, one that is less corporate and obnoxious than sites like Facebook and Twitter to certain people. And then of course there is the fact that a bunch of Reddit users ended up having a real world impact on the stock market which is obviously going to make people even more interested in the app than might have been the case otherwise. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Reddit has made progress by leaps and bounds and it will be interesting to see where the company manages to go from here.
