Google acquires Neverware – the company making Chromium-based CloudReady OS

What if I told you that it was possible to give your old laptop or PC a makeover? That’s the promise of CloudReady, a free operating system based on the open-source Chromium OS that converts legacy Windows and Mac system into brand-new Chromebooks.

Now Neverware – the company behind this endeavor is acquired by Google. The announcement was made quietly by the company and said that more details will follow shortly.

However, this partnership brings some unwanted consequences for the users.

Now that the company is part of Google, the future of the Home Edition is clouded. According to the statement released by Neverware, there will be no changes to the Home Edition at this time. However, can we expect changes to the plans and pricing in the future?
