Google to Discontinue Classic Groups from 2nd November

Google has been implementing redesigns for a large number of its products and services, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that the tech giant is attempting to make it so that the experience can end up getting streamlined in some way, shape or form at the end of the day. Google Groups was late to the party but the redesign extended to this service as well, and Google stated that this was being done in an attempt to bring it in line with Gmail and other such services potentially due to the reason that the company is trying to go for cross functionality in a lot of these applications all in all.

The new version of Groups was introduced back in March, and while it became the default view in September users were still able to revert back to the classic view if they so chose. It turns out that Google is planning to very quickly dispense with the old version of Groups and this year the tech giant is going to remove the option to revert back to the classic look starting on the 2nd of November in a rollout that would last about three days once all has been said and is now out of the way.

The new version of Groups has actually been praised for being simpler and more accessible. All settings can be accessed from a single location, and there are a lot more filter options as well. Google seems to be putting a lot of emphasis on making it so that users end up having an easier time accessing the company’s various services that are out there. This is a rare example of a change occurring on the internet that the vast majority of people seem to be on board with.
