Elon Musk Believes That AI Poses Greater Threat to Humanity As Compared To Nuclear Weapons, and States That Those Who Think AI Couldn’t Be Smarter Than Them, Are Dumb

Last week, Elon Musk, CEO Tesla, reiterated his concerns related to the future of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and stated that those people who do not believe a machine could surpass their cognitive abilities are way dumber than they think they are.

The Tesla CEO stated that he has been conveying his AI concerns for nearly ten years now, and he explained that the world should be careful regarding how artificial intelligence is growing in terms of usage. Musk said that the people he sees being the most wrong about artificial intelligence are the ones who are very smart and intelligent, as they cannot imagine that a machine can be way smarter than them.

He said that this is the flaw in their logic and they are just way dumber than they think they are. Previously, Tesla CEO has said that he believes that AI poses a greater threat to humanity as compared to nuclear weapons. He called for regulatory authorities to monitor the development of artificial intelligence technology.

Back in the year 2018, during a Q&A session at the SXSW film festival and tech conference in Texas, the tech billionaire stated that production difficulties with the Tesla Model 3 electric car and the dangers of artificial intelligence are the two things that stress him most in life. Elon Musk said that he thinks the danger of artificial intelligence is much larger as compared to the danger of nuclear warheads by a lot. He added that nobody will suggest that we allow the world to just build nuclear warheads if they want to. It would be insane to allow them to do so. Musk said that artificial intelligence is far more dangerous as compared to nukes.

It seems that the tech billion who wants to colonize Mars is seriously worried about the development in the field of artificial intelligence. However, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the world’s largest social network, Facebook, disagrees with Elon Musk. Facebook CEO states that artificial intelligence has already helped in improving health care, and the technology could also reduce car crashes. Zuckerberg questioned why Musk was being so negative about artificial intelligence. Mark Zuckerberg stated that he is really optimistic about artificial intelligence, and he thinks that it is pretty irresponsible to think that AI could pose a threat to humanity.

In response, Tesla CEO tweeted that he has talked to Mark Zuckerberg about this, and Musk added that Zuckerberg’s understanding of the subject is limited.
