Facebook Might Launch Smaller Oculus Quest VR Headset in 2020

Oculus Quest VR headset from Facebook was launched in 2019 and was much talked about and praised in general. Reportedly, now the company is working on the second edition of VR headset which is expected to be revealed in 2020 or due to unfortunate COVID-19, it might delay till next year.

According to Bloomberg reports, many potential successors of VR headset are in progress and Facebook is working to make them smaller in size, lightweight but with better and realistic content. It is also reported that the controllers of the new headsets will come with a different look this time.

The Quest in making is expected to be lighter, which would be easy to wear for long sessions. The existing Quests weight around 1.25 pounds whereas the new ones being tested are about a pound or 0.45 kg in weight.

Though they can be used separately and do not necessarily require a computer, but it would be possible to connect them with PC using Oculus Link cable.

The report also claimed that Facebook scheduled to launch the device this year but it might be delayed until 2021 due to the ongoing global pandemic.
