Facebook Messenger has Rolled out an Update that Determines who can Reach your Chats List!

Facebook is at it again. The king of social media doesn’t need any introduction whatsoever. In less than 2 decades, it has amassed over two billion users and the numbers are all set to increase over the coming years. One of the main reasons why Facebook has managed to sit on the throne for so long is that it continues to evolve with time and keeps things fresh.

Well, today isn’t any different either. A couple of days ago, renowned social media consultant Matt Navarra tweeted about a new addition to Facebook Messenger. The addition we are referring to is a new “Messaging settings” option.

Navarra also shared a screenshot with his tweet to give us a better idea about this new option. From the looks of it, “Messaging settings” will be accessed from “Preferences”. The settings in question will allow you to choose whether people who have your phone number can reach your chats list or not.

As for now, Facebook allows messages from friends to directly reach the chats list. Messages that are not from friends, on the other hand, enter “Requests” directly. It will be interesting to see the impact of the new settings on how Messenger operates.

If you are a user of Messenger and have your App updated to its latest version, you can check if you can access “Messaging settings”. Stay tuned for any potential updates on this story.
