Facebook is bringing some new changes in its corporate logo to make it more clear what it owns

Facebook is one of the largest social media platforms with millions of users from all over the world. Despite the so many scandals and accusations on Facebook, the platform still strategized to engage with a variety of new audiences by owning similar social networks. After Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are considered the second largest social media platforms and to make it clear for its users the tech giant will be changing its corporate logo to display that it owns these apps as well.

According to Antonio Lucio, Chief Marketing Officer, "We’re updating our company branding to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook. We’re introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding."

People usually get confused between Facebook - social media networks used by billions around the world - and Facebook corporate - parent company of some major social apps and tech products. Facebook corporate is a parent company that owns Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and even the social media service named Facebook as well. Still, confused? You’re not the only one. The corporate Facebook also fears the same and this is the reason behind the announcement of the new logo.


According to Lucio, the reason behind the changes in the corporate’s logo is to make it clear to its users about the products owned by Facebook. According to the announcement, a new logo of the company will be introduced to make the Facebook Company and Facebook app more distinct from each other. The reason behind this new branding of the corporate is to enable people to understand about the companies they use and the products which companies make.

This new logo will be displayed on social apps like Instagram and WhatsApp to clarify to users about the owner of the products they use and in the upcoming weeks, this new logo is expected to be displayed on various Facebook-owned products.
