YouTube Is Ready to Enter Fashion World with The Launch of Fashion Vertical

YouTube has long been producing self-taught makeup artists, fashion designers and DIY artists who inspire and define fashion trends. Previously, YouTube has been accused of neglecting the fashion themes quite a lot, although they have been the hub house for multiple fashion-related content creators and have successfully provided a platform where fashion designers, artists, makeup artist and other people related to the industry have been showcasing their talent.

YouTube is known to be a creative space for multiple beauty stars including British vlogger and makeup artist Zoe Sugg, Dancing with the Stars YouTuber Bethany Mota, famous makeup gurus including James Charles, Michelle Phan, Jaclyn Hill, Tati Westbrook, and others. To cater to the vast audience who is just here to consume content related to fashion, YouTube has even launched an ad unit that targets the beauty category and uses AR to help the viewers try out various makeup products.

However, YouTube has finally decided to take this up a notch, by launching a completely different segment just like YouTube music, YouTube kids, YouTube gaming, etc. Now the users will be able to not only subscribe to the channels of collaborating artist and YouTubers separately but they can also subscribe to the YouTube Fashion segment where they will stay updated about fashion throughout.

Rumors about YouTube fashion ideas were circulating for a long time and to make this possible, YouTube hired Derek Blasberg, a famous fashion icon known to be a host at CNN style and a contributor at Vanity fair. YouTube has hired Derek to be the new fashion and beauty head, and surely it was a fruitful decision considering YouTube has made a lot of progress since June. To promote the idea of fashion vertical, Blasberg has been encouraging fashion-related collaboration among top fashion content creators, brands and celebrities. This will not only benefit the celebrities and content creators but also help YouTube to evaluate the profiles of the brands and YouTubers for future projects.

On YouTube fashion section, users may find fashion and beauty creators, famous fashion and make related brands, breakout channels, fashion publications and other fashion-related products.

"Our goal is to make YouTube.com/Fashion a diverse and inclusive place, filled with the latest fashion and beauty trends, content and more. We’ll be working over the coming months to bring more international voices to the page and to localize for global markets.", explained Derek Blasberg, Director of YouTube Fashion and Beauty.
