Google to Include Specific Podcast Episodes in Search Results

Podcasts are a great way for anyone to spend their time. They can be informative as well as highly entertaining, and most podcasts tend to be as successful as they are because of the fact that they are so easy to search for on the various search engines that people tend to use for this specific purpose. Google has been a big player in this area, but the search giant is actually taking steps to make it easier still to find podcasts that you might be interested in.

Now when you search for a podcast you are going to see individual episodes of that podcast as well. You can also search for individual episodes, something that is definitely going to help you find the podcast that you truly want to listen to. This level of specificity in your search engine results has never been seen before, and it is definitely going to enhance the user experience to a degree that they might not be used to but will probably quickly come to appreciate due to the numerous benefits that it could potentially end up providing in the long run.

Google Assistant is also about to become a part of this. Basically, all you will have to do is open up Google Assistant and say that you want some kind of a podcast. If you are specific enough then Google Assistant will be able to scour the internet and find you the podcast that you may have been looking for. This feature is currently still being tested out so there are going to be a few glitches here and there but this is an important change that is happening and it could potentially end up improving things significantly for an extended period of time.
"As part of our work to help podcasters build audiences and grow their businesses, we’ll soon add the ability for publishers to specify where you can listen to their podcasts, such as other apps or websites.", announced Zack Reneau-Wedeen, Product Manager, Google Podcasts, in a blog post. Adding further, "This means you’ll be able to discover podcasts that may be exclusively available by purchase or subscription. These new features are available starting today, beginning with people using English in the U.S."

Once this feature has been improved and optimized it will probably greatly improve the podcast searching as well as listening experience for anyone that is interested in this sort of thing.
