Facebook will now Enable you to Reach Out to Marketplace sellers via WhatsApp!

Over the last couple of years, we have heard how different Social Media platforms intend on implementing such a mechanism that will allow users to purchase the products shown in a post, directly through the App instead of having users exit the App and visit an external website to proceed further.

Facebook has recently introduced an interesting option that will allow users to contact Marketplace sellers via WhatsApp. This news was shared by Digital Marketer Roneet Michael and Social Media Consultant Matt Navarra.

Navarra also shared a screenshot to offer further clarification regarding the feature. In the picture, it can be seen that while viewing a particular product, the seller’s information as well as ways to reach out to them will appear. One of the options to contact the seller is via WhatsApp, an option that didn’t exist until recently.

Upon hearing about the new addition, a number of people questioned the importance of an option to enable communication via WhatsApp since the option to reach out to the seller via Messenger was already available.

The most believable answer to this question was provided by a Twitter user named Arjun Nemani who said that the feature appears to be heavily targeted to the Indian audience. For those who don’t know, WhatsApp is highly popular in India and is used more than Messenger. The App even has its own payment facility in the country. So the new feature makes sense when this theory is taken into account.
