Bill Gates Admits to One of His Greatest Mistakes

Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world and without a doubt one of the most successful entrepreneur as well, but the fact of the matter is that he didn’t get to where he is today without making a few mistakes. It’s not all that common for the rich and powerful to admit when they have made a mistake but Bill Gates in a recent interview was found quite candidly admitting to what he considers to be the biggest mistake that he had ever made.

According to Bill Gates, the biggest mistake of his career involves not managing to secure the smartphone operating system market. According to Gates, there is only room for one company that could potentially challenge the dominance that Apple holds over the smartphone operating system market, and his biggest mistake is not turning Microsoft into the company that ended up providing the operating system that the majority of smartphones use in the market at this point in time all in all.

It is understandable that Bill Gates would consider his inability to capture the smartphone market to be a great failure because of the fact that Google earns hundreds of billions of dollars from Android, and since Microsoft is already quite a successful company managing to maintain a foothold in the world of smartphone operating systems might have been just what the company needed in order to become perhaps the single biggest company in the world.

Whatever the case may be, Microsoft ended up failing in this regard and Google managed to come out on top, and it just goes to show how the smallest miscalculations could potentially end up having ch enormous impacts on the world around us.
