YouTube is testing more UI changes on its platform

Just today, we came across a tweet by Jane Manchun Wong where she revealed that more updates are on the way for YouTube users. According to her tweet, YouTube is currently testing out a split-pane layout and mini-players as video preview thumbnails.

In YouTube’s defense, the feature is developed to enhance the user’s experience and make its web version more user friendly.

However, the users are not much concerned about the update. In fact, in response to Jane Manchun Wong, a users claimed not to regard the videos shown on the side pane as most videos in the recommended section have already been watched or are not in the ‘watching list.’

One user also complained that the side-pane feature does not work in Firefox. "Hate that split_pane ugh", expressed another tweeter.

YouTube was unavailable for response when contacted.

Currently, the feature is in test-mode and we will have to wait to see how it implements with the rest of the interface.
