Apple App Store Maintaining the Trend by Generating 93% more Revenue than Google Play in Q3

It will not be wrong to say that Apple dominating in terms of revenue. Hence this is further proven by the recent data released by the independent firm Sensor Tower, that showed Apple outnumbered Google in Q3 2018 app store revenue over Google play store by 93%.

Global App Revenue Topped $18 Billion Last Quarter, Up 23% Year-Over-Year

Historically, Apple always on the driving seat in terms of revenue generation as compared to Google. But this time they post the record difference by generating 93% more revenue in Q3 of the fiscal year. Moreover, the firm says 66% of the 18.2 billion dollars was generated from the App store that is 23% more from the last year of earning 9.7 billion.

Meanwhile, Google earned 6.2 billion dollars in the same quarter, 21.5% up from the third quarter of the last year which was 5.1 billion dollar.

Whereas Netflix maintains the top position for the consecutive third quarter by collecting 243 million dollars across both platforms. Tinder and Tencent Video captured the second and third position.

The firm further breaks down the statistical performance between the app store. In terms of downloading of Apps, Android somehow got an edge over the App Store. App installs hike among both platforms by 10.9% as compared to the last year same quarter.

Similarly, TikTok App that merger with musical.ly toped in the most downloaded app, as it increases 15% quarterly and 440% on the annual basis that resulting in ranking the TikTok app to the fourth number by leaving behind Instagram (5) and Snapchat (10).
