Huawei Attempts to Deceive People by Passing off a DSLR Picture as a Photograph Clicked by Its Latest Nova

As tipped by the Redditor AbdullahSab3, Huawei attempted to pass a DSLR photo as its own, in its latest advertisement for Nova 3i mobile.

It is not the first time the company has done something like this to deceive people into believing that the pictures captured by their mobile sets are immensely high in quality. In this particular ad, the male lead takes a picture of himself and a woman, who is trying to touch-up her makeup before the shot. However, when she sees herself in the picture (without having redone her makeup), she discovers that the mobile has done the magic for her, and she does not need to freshen up. But according to a behind the scenes photograph shared by the Sarah Elshamy (an Egypt-based model) on her Instagram account, the actual picture was clicked using a DSLR. AbdullahSab further explained that the model deleted the post later.

Huawei in a blog post informed CNET that a note at the end of the advertising clip highlights that the photographs and content shown in the video "are for reference (purpose) only."
