Here are the most interesting and insightful parts from the infographic.

48% would use their smartphone in a place of worship

Since places of worship are considered sacred in nearly every culture of the world, it really says something about people's addiction to their mobile devices, when nearly half of us see no problem with using them in a place of worship!

75% wouldn't be ashamed to use their smartphones in public restrooms

A disturbing study recently appeared in the news about the presence of disgusting germs and bacteria that lurk on or inside an alarming percentage of smartphones. This statistic from the LG poll gives you an idea of why the findings in germ research are likely quite accurate!

33% have used their smartphone to appear busy while alone

This gets us to a larger insight that people have offered about our use of smartphones and what it says about us: our fear of being alone. It's not necessarily a bad thing, to be afraid of being alone, since community and socialization are such an important part of health.

But this statistic certainly says a lot, when it comes to our fears of solitude and our anxiety about looking like a loser with no friends!

62% have used their device in the company of their friends

Now this is one number that might seems unacceptably low. Since your smartphone doubles as your camera, or restaurant finder, or driving navigation, it seems unusual that 38% of the people polled believed they hadn't used their smartphone around their friends.

Maybe they forgot that they used their smartphone, because it happens so often. Or they associated the use of a smartphone only with the the activity of making a phone call.

36% used it to take a selfie

This is another statistic that's hard to believe. It's probably higher than this; wouldn't you agree, after checking your Facebook feed that seems full of people taking pictures of themselves, in front of cars with eyelashes or picturesque sunsets!
