The team at 8thBridge has analyzed the social commerce strategies of 872 retailers to determine their website social integration, brand awareness on social channel and top upstream traffic by major platforms (like YouTube, Google+, Twitter, Facebook etc.). The study found that Facebook's "like" button surpassed by Pinterest’s "Pin It" button on the product page. 43 out of 50 retailers are planning to add social shopping features to their site. 99 percent of all retailers are present on Facebook and Facebook is still 69 percent of all social network traffic but traffic only averages 2.16 percent from Facebook (22 times more than Pinterest) and engagement on Facebook brand pages was down 27% as Facebook evolved to a pay for play marketing platform. 9 out of 10 brands with applications on their Facebook page, while 40% of brands with apps not functioning or out of date.
