TikTok is testing a user control that lets people adjust how often AI-generated content appears in their For You feed. The feature is available inside Manage Topics, the settings panel TikTok introduced earlier in the year. The slider allows users to choose whether they want to see more or less AI-generated content. TikTok states that this control influences recommendation frequency in the For You feed and does not function as a blocking tool. It also does not affect other sections of the app.
TikTok is introducing an invisible watermark for AI-generated content made with TikTok’s own tools, including AI Editor Pro. Watermarking also applies to content that carries C2PA Content Credentials. TikTok says these markers help identify when a clip includes synthetic elements. Identification will continue to rely on creator disclosures, C2PA metadata, and TikTok’s automated detection models. TikTok reports that more than 1.3 billion videos have been labeled through these combined systems, according to the company’s internal data.
TikTok announced a 2 million dollar fund to support creators and experts who produce educational material related to AI literacy and responsible use. The company also says it will sponsor Partnership on AI and take part in two of its steering committees that focus on synthetic media practices.
The redesigned Time and Well-Being space replaces TikTok’s previous screen time page and brings together usage information, guided tools, and wellness resources in one location. It includes a journal with more than 120 cards, a sound generator with rain, waves, and white noise options, and guided breathing exercises. TikTok states that its meditation feature has been used tens of millions of times and that early engagement with the journal has been strong, based on internal usage metrics.
The updated hub highlights features meant for families and younger users, including screen-time limits, content controls, and Family Pairing. TikTok reports that Family Pairing received more than one million visits in a recent six week period. The redesigned layout places these resources together so they can be accessed more easily inside Account Settings.
TikTok is introducing four Well-Being Missions as part of the updated space. The Sleep Hours mission encourages avoiding the app at night. The daily screen time mission supports sticking to a chosen daily limit. The weekly screen time mission prompts a review of the weekly usage report. The Ambassador mission allows people to invite others to try these tools. TikTok says early testing of the redesigned Time and Well-Being space resulted in higher return visits compared with the previous layout.
TikTok also announced a contribution of 100 thousand dollars to the Tech Coalition SafeOnline Research Fund in 2026. According to TikTok, the funding will support independent research focused on youth well-being in digital spaces. The company worked with creators and experts to produce videos that explain how to use the wellness and safety features available in the app.
The changes cover three main areas. Users can adjust how often AI-generated content appears in their For You feed. TikTok is introducing watermarking for AI-generated content made with its own tools and continuing its labeling systems based on disclosures, metadata, and detection models. The Time and Well-Being space now provides a single location for wellness tools, guided activities, and new missions related to usage habits.
