Here Are the Most In-Demand AI Jobs

With AI becoming an ever more critical aspect of our lives, it stands to reason that jobs pertaining to AI will increase in prominence with all things having been considered and taken into account. It turns out that some AI based jobs are extremely high paying. For example, prompt engineers can earn upwards of $300,000 on an annual basis, with around 45,000 people in this field competing against each other for a scant 2,000 roles.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that prompt engineering is still just the 6th most in-demand job in the field of AI. This is based on an analysis of job postings on Glassdoor, although a separate study indicated that AI prompt engineering was the most in-demand job in the previous year.

As for the current year, the most in demand AI job of all turned out to be that of AI research scientists. There are 18,000 positions available in this field, and they pay an average of $132,000. There has been a 42% uptick in the level of interest shown in AI careers, and according to research by Velents AI, the aforementioned roles might be the root cause of this.

Yet another highly desired job in the AI space is that of machine learning engineer. There are nearly 7,000 vacancies in this position, or 6,800 to be precise, and they pay an average of $160,000. Due to the high rate of pay, around 20,000 people are vying for these roles which will make it harder for them to actually get their hands on the job than might have been the case otherwise.

The high level of competition just goes to show that demand for AI jobs can be seen on both sides of the coin. Employers are looking to hire people that can fill these jobs and employees are eager to enjoy the enormous financial benefits that can come their way if they manage to obtain them. It will be interesting to see what the trend looks like a few years from now.
