Companies Are Willing to Pay 6 Figure Salaries for This One Skill

Getting a six figure salary is not exactly the hardest thing in the world, particularly if you somehow manage to obtain the right skills with all things having been considered and taken into account. It turns out that there is one skill in particular which is in extremely high demand, namely that of cybersecurity.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that there has been a 300% uptick in reported incidences of cybercrime since the pandemic began according to the FBI. This has led to a massive swelling of demand for professionals who are capable of offering cybersecurity services, and the Bureau of Labor projects that these jobs will increase by 32% within the span of a single decade. It bears mentioning that this is a much higher rate of growth than the overall job market will end up seeing.

As of right now, there are around 600,000 open positions for cybersecurity professionals in the US alone, and if we widen the scope, around 3.5 million positions are waiting to be filled all around the world. Google’s Chief Marketing Officer for both North and South America, Lisa Gevelber, has stated that cybersecurity is a highly underrated profession because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up offering exceptional salaries for those that apply.

Though it might seem like this is a very competitive field to break into, a cybersecurity certificate can cost just $50 and take as little as three months to complete. Most jobs don’t require a degree in the first place, which makes it far easier to apply for them than might have been the case otherwise. Once a job is acquired, it can be surprisingly easy to hold on to it since companies would most likely not be willing to part ways with a cybersecurity professional anytime soon.

Most of these jobs pay over $100,000 a year, and many of them allow you to work from the comfort of your very own home. Several jobs actually offer more than $200,000 on an annual basis, which just goes to show that there are quite a few chances for upward mobility available to people that are willing to give this field a try.
