8 Out of 10 Top Selling Smartphones Are iPhones

Apple is undoubtedly one of the largest smartphone companies in the world, and it can be rather challenging for any other company to come close to the level of success that Apple seems to seamlessly acquire. The tech juggernaut ended up being so successful in 2022 that eight out of the top ten best selling smartphones of the year were iPhones with all things having been considered and taken into account!

It turns out that the best selling smartphone in 2022 was none other than the Apple iPhone 13. It comprised 5% of the total smartphones that were sold, which is quite staggering since it means that one out of twenty phones that were sold in the year were iPhone 13! Coming in second is the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max with a 2.6% share, followed by Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1.6%.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Samsung managed to break into the top five as well. Samsung is perhaps the only major smartphone manufacturer that can measure up to Apple, but in spite of the fact that this is the case the best that it could do was the number 4 spot with its Samsung Galaxy A13.

Following that we see a string of iPhones, starting with the iPhone 13 Pro in 5th place. Samsung got to get another entry into the top ten list with its Samsung Galaxy A03, but that seemed like it was the best that the Korean company could do.

One thing to note here is that Samsung’s entries into this list are not its flagship models. Its affordable models sell more units, but that isn’t the case with Apple. Whenever Apple releases a premium smartphone, it becomes an immediate best seller. That is happening despite the drastic increases in prices that were being seen across the board. Apple clearly has the smartphone industry in an unassailable vice grip, and no other company including Samsung is able to create premium smartphones that can hold a candle to Apple in terms of overall sales.
