Twitter’s New CEO to Focus on Streamlining and Efficiency

Twitter has been associated with its maverick founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey for quite some time now, but with Dorsey now moving on to other projects the new CEO, Parag Agrawal, is now under pressure to make certain changes. One thing that Agrawal appears to be focusing on is speeding Twitter up because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing users to interact with one another in a much more streamlined and efficient manner.

This comes from the recent Barclays Technology Conference where Agrawal made his first official appearance as Twitter CEO. With his reorganization of the company’s upper management, it appears that Agrawal is wasting no time stamping down on his authority and unveiling his vision for where he feels like Twitter should end up going as time goes by.

This restructuring will involve making it easier to make decisions in the fastest way possible, something that was difficult to do previously due to the reason that there was a rather bureaucratic structure that made things sluggish.

Agrawal also referred to Twitter’s recent acquisition of Quill, a messaging app, saying that this would help them focus more on direct messages. Twitter’s direct messages have often underperformed which isn’t ideal in a tech industry where so many major players are starting to focus more on direct messaging above all else.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Twitter’s new CEO appears to have very clear goals, and he is leveraging his experience as CTO to make the changes required. Whether or not his vision will help Twitter regain momentum remains to be seen, but these changes are definitely exciting and they indicate that people might be expecting a lot from the new and improved Twitter.
