New Oculus Headsets Get Proximity Sensors Among Other New Features

Facebook’s rebrand to Meta has more to do than with just helping the company get past recent controversies. It has also been a part of the company’s overarching plan to look into diversifying its offerings, and a big part of that has to do with Oculus. Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus was quite a headline back in the day, but the company took its time to develop a product through the subsidiary and now the time has come for the company to announce the new product line which is a headset called Quest as well as Quest 2.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that these headsets have some significant improvements from previous VR headsets that people have been talking about. One of the most prominent features with all things having been considered and taken into account is called Space Sense, and it alerts you when something is in your vicinity so that you don’t end up knocking into it or potentially hurting someone that’s around you due to the reason that you have a headset on and you can’t see what you’re actually doing.

You can also get notifications from Android and iOS in the display of your headset, and all of these features have turned this into quite the hot product that a lot of people are really interested in right now. Facebook’s rebrand as Meta might have been done in order to shield Oculus from the negative press that is parent company is going through, and that makes sense because this is a headset that could change the game from a VR standpoint. We will have to wait and see if it lives up to the kind of expectations that people have from it because VR headsets have often been disappointing in the past.
