Remote working for longer hours from home has become a new normal for many people, but it has some hidden risks as well according to a research

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have no other choice but to stay at home and work from here too. Many big companies are suggesting their employees to work from homes, including Google, Apple, Facebook, and Twitter. Whatever you think of this type of work does not really matter because this trend is increasing day by day as remote working is growing very fast more than even doubled since 2005 to 4.7 million workers in the US. It is possible that the productivity of the work shrinks while working from home because you do not find the right place and office routine of work, you do the office work with the homework and you cannot get the environment of office while working from home which reduces your productivity. But still, the remote workers are very optimistic about their new normal.

A study from Skedulo has found that the remote workers and mobile employees are finding that they are working more hours from home and they are now worried about returning to the office. The 2020 state of work is defining a new normal amid covid-19, from the deskless productivity software supplier checked out the trials faced by the remote workers and the desk-based workers, and how their job affected them during the meantime. The company surveyed 1336 employees having 626 remote workers and 610 office-based staff and 100 IT executives, these employees were from the UK, US, Australia, and other countries. The executive of both segments of the workforce worked as hard as they can to prevent potential exposure. Outside of the health concerns, more than 58 percent of the workers including 31 percent remote workers and 38 percent said that their work has become more difficult during working more hours.

Covid-19 has a clear impact on the productivity of the work, as the productivity of the remote worker has decreased a lot and the field workers say that they are unable to provide the level of customer services to their customers as they used to give before the pandemic.

However, according to a report by NordVPN Teams (via Bloomberg), working from home means that people can work longer hours. NordVPN Teams has surveyed the working hours of the employees of Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherland, Spain, the UK, and the US.

The working hours of remote workers in the UK, Austria, Canada, and the US have seen a sustained 2.5 hours increase than the average day. However, the working hours of pre-pandemic in the country of Belgium were 2 hours more than working from home.
