Twitter CMO Leslie Berland Shares An Important Career Advice For Youngsters: Read It Here!

Advice can have a strong impact on the person, no matter how relevant or small it might be. Recently, the chief marketing officer of Twitter, Leslie Berland, was interviewed by CNBC where she gave an important message to the youth.

Leslie Berland, who is responsible for the branding of the company is a Boston University graduate. Before joining Twitter, she has been associated with Ketchum as a public-relations officer for over 10 years. In her interview, she told the reporter that throughout her career she has received millions of career advice that helped her to grow professionally.

Berland said that there is one piece of advice that nobody should ever forget. She said that often students are attracted to big titles and big roles, however, she reported that before joining the post, the person must ask themselves if this job fits them well.

Berland said that success is not tied to a big position but lies where the passion of the person lies. She said that success is brought by the impact a young person can have on the company. Upon advising the recent graduates, Berland suggested that don’t say yes to just any job with a good title but try to understand what the job asks from you or if the office culture aids in your growth. Look at what inspires you and takes your inner best out of you.

To check if the job is perfect for you, Berland says that the person must look at the culture of the company including their purpose and values. Ask your interviewee, if the company follows a mission or what do they really care about? Then look if it suits your overall persona.


The stats on the Glassdoor suggests that people are mostly motivated by the company’s culture. In addition to this, 5,000 adults from the US, the UK, and Germany also reported that strong company culture matters the most.
