Google to introduce a toolbar so users can search through screenshots

Google is planning to blend two mobile screen-related features that are, “What’s on my Screen” and “Edit & Share”. The new version of the Google 10.61 comes with a new feature known as “Smart Screenshots” that shows a toolbar whenever a person takes a screenshot.

Just like old times, you can share, edit or send the screenshot to anyone; however, there is a new option known as “Lens”. When you select Lens, a user can perform an optical character recognition (OCR) search and find items that are visually similar.

It is not yet confirmed if the Lens function will work for all the screenshots or the ones that are taken in Google search. Despite the lack of information, this function will prove to be very beneficial for visual search purpose.
