A Blessing in the form of Glitch: Google's Search Shows Over 30 Results on the First Page!

It’s a well-known fact that most of the people who post a query on Google only check out the results displayed on the first page. In very rare cases do people take the opportunity to click past the first page and look for their answers beyond that. It looks like Google has an idea to make more results available to the users.

The Tech Giant was recently seen exhibiting an unusual search results page. There were over 30 listings displayed (30 organic, a featured snippet and the knowledge graph box). This came out of the blue and sounds unbelievable to some extent but thankfully, SearchEngineJournal’s lead developer Vahan Petrosyan spotted the change just in time, took a screenshot and shared it for the world to see.

The results page is now back to normal. Thus, the unusual change can either be considered as a glitch or a sign of things to come.

If it is somehow in the works, it can prove to be quite a game changer for Google. Site owners and publishers will be benefited as their websites will then have increased chances of showing up on the first page of Google’s search engine results pages (SERP). Searchers will also be benefited in the sense that they will have their hands on more details and results without the need of clicking past the first page, which very few searchers do. However, not everyone likes information overload.

Unless Google issues a comment or some other authentic source sheds more light on it, it will be best for all of us to keep our fingers crossed. Stay tuned for any potential developments in this story!
