YouTube Music About to Replace Play Music on Android Devices

YouTube Music is on its way to let Android users play on-device audio files, expected to replace Play Music. This feature is now rolled out to some of the users.

The current Library tab in Play Music consists of various collections, including Downloads, Playlists, Albums, Artists and Liked Songs. Whereas this new function is live in YouTube Music, as noted by MSpoweruser.

Artists page now have two tabs, named YT Music and Device Files. YT Music consists of lists of the bands and musicians that user have subscribed to on YouTube, while the Device Files shows the audio file that you have stored either in internal storage or on SD card.

Certain limitations, unlike that of Play Music, have been noticed that the songs cannot be added to playlist or queue along with the YouTube Music. Also, it is unable to cast device files to another device, same like Google Cast which function by sending streaming links.
