48% of the Generation Z opt to use social media to fill up their spare time while 45% would be keen to use the platforms for entertaining and funny stuff. However 41% of the youngsters aged 16-20 prefer using social media to keep a check on what their friends are up to.
In mature markets, Generation Z consumers prefer to connect with their friends and families on the social media. However, in faster growth or under-mature markets, the priorities are altogether different and it varies.
It is likely that this generation will be using platforms like Twitch and Reddit as it lies somewhere in the middle of social media and personal interests.
