Global Web Index's annual report reveals that Pinterest and Tumblr recorded the biggest rises in active user numbers across 2014.
Pinterest and Tumblr are the growth leaders, increasing their active users by 97 percent and 95 percent, respectively. Pinterest’s membership (registered users) increased by 54 percent and Tumblr by 35 percent. By contrast Facebook added only 1 percent to its member base and experienced a drop in active users (of -9 percent).
Although, Facebook is growing slower than its competitors (Google+, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram and LinkedIn) but, overall, it's still solidly in the number one position.
