Video Creators Can Now ‘Go Live’ On YouTube Without Downloading Encoding Software

YouTube has decided to roll out a new feature of ‘Go Live’ today as video creators will now be able to begin a live stream without the need of encoding software.

This is what live streamers need to do in order to use this feature:

1- Click on ‘Go Live’ button in the YouTube header OR

2- Type this URL youtube.com/webcam to get going

According to the company, no surplus configuration is needed. At present, only Google Chrome supports this feature. However, YouTube aims to expand it to other browsers in the future.

Prior to this new feature, a user was supposed to download an encoding software (like OBS Project) for live streaming. However, this new option is much user-friendly and quicker which would ultimately entice more video creators to use this platform.
