Facebook Saves Call And Text Data Of Android Users: Report

Facebook is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. As per the latest report in Ars Technica, a vast majority of Android users have discovered that Facebook has saved an enormous amount of call and text data dating back years.

The social giant is already facing a lot of hue and cry regarding the controversy of misusing personal data. According to a report, several Android users upon pulling out their archives found out that Facebook has saved a lot of their information including call logs which comprised of names, contact details, and the duration of each call made.

In a statement, Facebook said:
“Call log was a widely used practice to begin by uploading your phone contacts”
The representative of Facebook also said that users do mutually get agreed on uploading their contacts – a feature which is optional. According to Facebook, there’s one tool which is available online through which users can erase all the contact information from their profiles.
