New Changes Coming to YouTube Channels

There are two new changes that are coming to YouTube that are going to end up impacting the manner in which people would end up engaging with the platform, especially if they are content creators and the like. The first of these two changes has to do with the video description. This is an important part of any video because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing viewers to obtain more information about the video that they are watching.

The change that is coming is that new sections are being added to the description box, and while the text that you initially display will still be visible users will now be able to preview the read more section without having to open it up entirely. This can help creators by preventing viewers from inadvertently clicking away from their videos in order to find out more about it. This change is going to be implemented on both iOS as well as Android versions of the app.

YouTube is also going to experiment with channel layouts to see what fits. The primary purpose of these experiments is to make it so that users can have an easier time engaging with the content that they are watching. One experiment involves changing what viewers see when they click on a channel, as they might just have to go to a specific about section to see information like how many videos the channel has posted and when it was first established.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that these changes are not going to be permanent. Rather, they are experiments on YouTube’s part to find the right formula for various channels to see how they can improve the user experience as well as that of channel owners.
