Design Trends 2017 - Infographic

Reviewing design trends from previous years and looking closely at those that are currently up-and-coming is a neat examination of the way that user needs evolve. Design is constantly adapting to meet consumers where they need it.

In 2015 and 2016, the digital landscape was dominated by Flat Design and responsive web templates. Obviously this made a lot of sense, given that these trends were minimalist, fit on every screen size, and easy to personalize or replicate according to your needs. Flat Design seemed to be one of the first widespread design innovations that truly embraced the medium of the screen, thereby creating a brand new standard for expectations of usability and aesthetics.

The only problem? Sometimes a design trend is replicated too many times, and suddenly every website on the internet starts to look exactly the same.

This infographic, courtesy of CoastalCreative, about 2017 design trends shows that there is hope yet for restoring originality to web design! Flat Design isn’t going anywhere in 2017, but this year has a colorful and more dynamic new spin on those templates that are perhaps becoming all too familiar. 2017 will welcome plenty of neon gradient overlays and bold geometric patterns, both of which promise to add some much needed depth to Flat Design. You can also look forward to edgy, friendly colors like neons and pastels, and a renewed excitement for unique hand lettering and illustrations.

Here is what you can expect to see across the web this year:
