Things are always in motion on Earth. Life is never static - we are always inhaling and exhaling, producing and consuming, enjoying and reflecting, giving birth and dying.
In line with the Earth Day celebration Sideqik produced an infographic showing what happens in one day on Earth that impacts every single one of its inhabitants, from microorganisms to humans and everywhere in between.
Some key highlights from visual:
370,000 people will be born today, that's over 135,400,000 people born since last earth day, that's more than the entire population of Japan, 127,650,000.
Between 150 - 200 species of plants insects and animals will go extinct today, that's about 55,000 to 73,000 species lost since last earth Day.
Nearly 275 marines mammals will be killed buy plastic garbage in our oceans, that's 100,000 marine mammals killed since last Earth day.
